How to Get Rid of Pantry Moths and Keep Them Out!
By Veronica Bettencourt

Pantry moths can be found in many homes. We all have to deal with them even more than once in our life. They get into your pantry and cupboards and slip into your food stores like rice grains, flour, nuts, cornmeal, or seeds. They can also get into your pantry by purchasing these food provisions that are already contaminated with moth larvae.

If you already have pantry moths, the ideal way of dealing with it is by cleaning up your storage cabinets. Take out everything inside your shelves and vacuum every nook and cranny thoroughly. Make sure that you properly dispose of the vacuumed waste and keep it from the door or windows of your house. This is to ensure that the moths will not have access to your home and your kitchen after you've disposed of it.

Next, you need to wipe your cupboards with a vinegar solution using a clean rag or sponge. Now, you have to make sure that square inch of your shelving unit is covered with this vinegar solution, especially the corners. If you dislike the smell of vinegar in your pantry cabinets, you can also scrub your cabinets with soapy water. Don't forget to wash the corners of your cabinets. Leave the cabinets to dry completely before putting anything in it.

Once you've made sure that your storage area is clean, you need to avoid it from getting infested again. To do this, discard all contaminated food. Don't be troubled if you see that you have to throw away a lot of food because it is the only way to make sure that your new supplies are not contaminated by pantry moths again.

Next, store your flour, grains, seeds, and nuts in air-tight containers. Zip lock bags are not recommended because these can tear easily and pantry moths can gnaw at it. Keep aromatic herbs and oils like cinnamon, bay leaves, lavender, and lemon peel in your cabinets to repel pantry moths. As a bonus, it makes your pantry smell good! You can also place 2-3 bay leaves inside the container of your food supplies to keep pantry moths at bay.

I suggest that you soak a cotton ball with eucalyptus oil and place it on the corners of your shelving units and cupboards. Replace it every month to keep pantry moths from infesting your pantry again.

Lastly, make certain that you are buying clean, non-infested grain, flour, and nuts by inspecting it before buying. If you suspect you may have bought a product with pantry moth larvae in it, store it in the freezer for 3 days. This will exterminate any eggs in the product.

Wait! Do you know you could clean your home in about half the time it take you now?

A large infestation can produce an overwhelming smell or odor. Cockroaches like warm, dark, moist areas such as kitchens and bathrooms and this is where you will find most of them. A home that is left untreated can produce 1000's of cockroaches. Once the cockroaches become stressed they will spread throughout your home into other areas other than kitchens and bathrooms and you will also see them in the daytime and night time.

The German cockroach is the most persistent of all cockroaches. One egg capsule can produce 20 to 40 baby cockroaches. The German cockroach only lives about 3 or 4 months but produces many offspring during that time. Getting rid of the German cockroach is a must if you have them in your home.

The American cockroach normally lives in decaying organic matter, unoccupied homes, attics, crawl spaces and other warm dark areas and away from human activity and normally lives outside but may enter your home seeking food and shelter. Let me get this straight.

We're going to pass a health care plan
written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it,
passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it,
signed by a president who also hasn't read it,
with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes,
overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and
financed by a country that's nearly broke.

What possibly could go wrong?
